The presence of SBMU in the meetings of G5 member countries
The presence and the executive cooperation of the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in holding the 26th five-day meetings of G5 member countries with the approach of “empowering the high-ranking health managers who are among G5 member countries”
The 26th meeting of senior experts of G5 member countries with the presence of Health Ministers, Vice-Presidents of health minister, health directors and experts, ministers and officials from Iran, Iraq, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, WHO, and Vise President of Economic Diplomacy of Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the approach of “empowering the high-ranking health managers who belong to G5 member countries” from May 6, 2023 to May 10, 2023 was organized by Islamic Republic of Iran and with executive cooperation of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences was held in five days comprising : first day: opening ceremony, second day: “Tolerant Health System”, third day: “Management of Contiguous Diseases”, forth day: “Vast Aggregations”, and fifth day: the closure. The venue of these meetings was Esteghlal Hotel.
This was the first empowering program in the field of governing and leading role of heath system of the G5 member countries.
At the day of opening ceremony Dr. Bahram Ainullahi, the Minister of Health, Ms. Khazali Consultant to the Country President, Dr. Seyed Jaffar Hussain, WHO Representative in Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Niknam, the President of International Affairs of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Training, Dr. Amir Khani Vise-President of International Affairs of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Zali Chancellor of the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Babak Sharif Kashani, Vice-Chancellor of the International Affairs, Dr. Tohidloo, University Executive Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Javani Head of Development of International Relations, Dr. Kiandokht Ghanati, Director of Research-Educational Affairs of the International Affairs, and a group of managers and Vice-Presidents of international affairs of the other medical universities of Iran and Health Directors and experts of G5 member countries were present and the meeting officially started.
During this 5-day meeting Vise-President of Health Affairs and managers of Health sphere participated in specialized sessions with the presence of high-ranking authorities of the participating countries. In this meeting while capacities of the university were clarified, a book consisting of university services and projects that had been valued in national and international levels was presented.
Moreover, the Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs and directors from the international affairs department in the specialized sessions explained in details academic interaction development for foreign parties, comprising: introduction of hospital intelligent management system for WHO and meeting with health authorities of Tajikistan in order to establish a university branch in Dushanbe and permeate therapeutic, educational activities.
On the sidelines of this meeting Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, along with the Tehran university of medical sciences, Kurdistan medical university and Kermanshah medical university took actions to set up booths and provide visitors with the university capacities. In line with this purpose experts from international relations development as ambassadors of Shahid Beheshti Medical university in the permanent side fair held at the booths of the meeting hall, introduced research-educational and health-therapeutic capacities that received visitors’ ovation.
It should be mentioned that before the start of the meeting the International Deputy of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences introduced 4 international students from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Tajikistan and one student from Iran as G5 members of the students committee. These members after relevant administrative processes took part at the meeting as representatives of their own countries.
